Background:
Stephen
T. Brophy and Lester Milton have been playing make believe since
they first learned howto hold an action figure. And for the last
17 years, they’ve been playing together. Between them they’ve
been involved in literally countless productions of greatly varying
quality. Since 1995, they’ve been writing, producing, recording
and acting in a twisted, seemingly secret project designed to
rejuvenate the long dead art of American Radio Theater. By creating
often cryptic, sometimes literate social satire, media and advertising
parody, along with obscure, self-indulgent efforts at original
hilarity, these aimless visionaries have managed to sway like
minded folks across the continent into broadcasting their titillating
distractions to an ever increasing audience.
Indeed,
their creativeoutput (4 hour-long CD’s) is already being exploited
in such diverse marketsas Santa Cruz, CA, San Marcos, TX, Vancouver,
BC, Chicago, IL, Durango, CO, and on theInternet, not to mention
their national exposure on the ubiquitous Dr. Demento Show. Their
ongoing saga of the Stigmata (Catholic priest by day, avenging
crime-fighter by night) has amassed hordes (if not legions) of
fans begging for more. And their live performances have been enthusiastically
received by people dulled and deadened by the usual stand-up pap.
